MARTI Pellow takes on one of musical theatres most coveted roles, when he plays Che in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita, which comes to Malvern Theatres next week.

Telling the story of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron, Evita follows Eva’s journey from humble beginnings through to extraordinary wealth, power and the iconic status which ultimately led her to be heralded as the ‘spiritual leader of the nation’ by the Argentine people. With more than 20 major awards to its credit, including the Oscar winning film version starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas, Evita features some of the most iconic songs in musical theatre, including Don’t Cry for Me Argentina, On This Night of a Thousand Stars, You Must Love Me, and Another Suitcase in Another Hall.

Marti Pellow plays Che, a character who reflects the voice of the Argentine people; linked toEva by destiny, he brings conflict to the story of Eva’s rise to fame. Marti Pellow has enjoyed major chart success, with more than 25 hits and three of the UK’s biggest number one singles, including Love Is All Around.

This production introduces a new star, Madalena Alberto, bringing the role of Eva to life to incredible critical acclaim. Madalena’s musical theatre credits include the role of Piaf at theCurve Theatre, Leicester and Fantine in the 25th Anniversary production of Les Misérables. Mark Heenehan reprises his role as Peron.
