JOHN Fitzgerald, Glasbury resident and a founding member of Glasbury Arts, promises to take his audience on a voyage from childhood to adulthood in an event entitled A Voyage Around John Fitzgerald, offering a dip into his professional life in childcare and child protection, with a short detour to the infamous West murders in Gloucester, before sailing into the calmer waters of photography, the arts and life on a canal boat.

Along the way, some (many) of John’s enthusiasms and prejudices will surface, and who knows what else – though he has promised not to sing!

All proceeds from the evening will go to Glasbury Arts, which runs an annual season of professional visual and performing arts with the invaluable support of a committed group of volunteers. Among events this year have been members of the chorus of WNO in concert and an evening with Jacqui Dankworth as well as a memorable flamenco performance from Alejandra Velasco . Young people, meanwhile, have enjoyed workshops in painting and writing, while adults have learned to make delicate wire sculpture and had a taste of dancing flamenco.
