THE Courtyard's new summer brochure contains a wealth of entertainment for everyone, from fresh contemporary dance to daring drama, from fun family shows to an eclectic selection of music, with the third annual CourtLaughing comedy festival promising a laugh-out-loud weekend at the beginning of June.

Transitions Dance Company return to The Courtyard on Thursday, May 1 with a mixed bill of new, progressive dance specially commissioned from both established and upcoming choreographers. Later in the month, on Thursday, May 15, Verve 14 is a dance show which promises a dynamic and passionate performance by 12 dancers trained at some of the world’s leading conservatoires. And June brings 2Faced Dance back to the stage - with Fresh 2014, the annual schools performance on Monday and Tuesday, June 16 and 17, and Fifteen, the annual dance show featuring the unique talents of dancers from the comapny's community and youth dance programme.

Music lovers can rejoice with a season rich in music. On Friday, May 2, The Budapest Cafe Orchestra deliver a night of swift turns through Balkan, Jewish and Russian traditional gypsy and folk music. Folk lovers will be satisfied with performances from The Fureys on Saturday 10 May and top traditional music duo on Spiers and Boden on Sunday , May 18. Opera fans will be in for a treat with Swansea City Opera's production of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro on Wednesday, June 4 and there's another chance to see and hear Brit-award-winning trio Blake on Saturday, June 14 when they'll be performing songs from their latest album, along with pop, classical and musical harmony covers..

Drama lovers can absorb themselves in a range of drama. Chekhov favourite The Seagull will be performed in the Main House on Wednesday 7 May. The London Classic Theatre return to The Courtyard with Joe Orton’s Entertaining Mr Sloan on Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 May, a play about the provocative Mr Sloan and his impact on those around him. For those who missed it the first time around, there's another - unmissable - chance to catch Vamos Theatre's moving, funny and thought-provoking full mask production, Finding Joy, on Saturday, May 24.

Julia Donaldson’s classic tale, The Gruffalo, has been adapted for stage, offering a very special introduction to live theatre for little ones on Monday , May 12 to Wednesday, May 14.

Older children, over seven, meanwhile, will be fascinated by The Science Museum's new live and exciting stage show, The Energy Show. Promising explosive family theatre for curious minds, this show is a fun learning experience for the whole family.
