Sex and The City star Kim Cattrall said she was “shaken up” after a teenage joyrider smashed into her home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The New York-based actress shared two images of the crash that showed the front door and window of the house destroyed. Another showed rubble and damage caused by the smash inside the house.

Kim confirmed that no-one was injured in the crash, tweeting a concerned fan: “Shaken up but all accounted for. Safe. Life is sweet.”

She warned that the crash could have been much worse.  ”This young girl could have killed herself, her friends, and me. Frightening…,” she replied to another.

It is legal to hold a driver’s licence in the US at 16, although Kim suggested that the young driver’s passengers had been drinking – which is illegal until 21 in America.

She tweeted her anger that there seemed to be few repercussions for the crash: “She was ‘Joy Riding’ with her drinking pals and is now free to drive around today without any restrictions.”

Graham Norton was one of the well-wishers who sent their support to Kim after the traumatic event.

The actress told a tweeter that the incident didn’t occur at her New York home, but in the Pacific North West – a region which includes the states of Oregon, Washington and Canada’s British Columbia.

She replied to Graham, “The only creature I thought was dangerous here were bears.”
