Hereford couldn’t quite believe its luck last week when the platinum-selling hip-hop artist, GZA, a founding branch of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan tree brought massive energy to the Wednesday night Jailhouse crowd, delivering an evening that exceeded all expectations.

Right from the off he had the capacity crowd in the palm of his hand, and they didn’t stop bouncing with him throughout a set that spanned his brilliant body of work.

It was clear that everyone in the room was in awe of a man who is undoubtedly one of the biggest hip-hop names ever to grace the streets of Hereford and the Jailhouse itself. The control he exerted over his audience was extraordinary - every hand in the room was raised as he rapped over the legendary beats from decades of success both with the group and as a solo artist, creating an energy and atmosphere that were perfect as everyone hung on every word.

And the love went both ways: "The Jailhouse, what can I say?” said GZA after the set. “Believe the hype! I would love to come back again."
