Hay Festival: Frente Colombiana

Hay might be renowned for its literature but music also has a presence at the festival – and this year comes from a new stage in the town centre.

Frente Colombiana, with their mix of instrumental dub and South American Cumbia rhythms, have roared so strongly into the zeitgeist that you would expect to see them playing in an East London squat.

But instead of hipsters wearing brogues without socks, two-year-olds danced next to grandmothers to the trendy tracks in Hay’s Sound Castle.
