A WEEK of English music and exhibitions can once again be enjoyed in Abbey Dore as English Choral Experience, the unique course for experienced singers, returns for a fourth year.
Three late evening recitals and an illustrated talk on George Dyson, one of the week’s featured composers, can be heard in Dore Abbey, with an evening of Flanders & Swann on Monday, July 19, the talk on Tuesday, July 20, a recital of English music for clarinet and piano on Thursday and a recital of English song on Friday, July 23, all at 9pm.
The week culminates in a concert of English choral works on Saturday, July 24, featuring George Dyson’s colourful masterpiece The Canterbury Pilgrims and a selection of short choral works from the 16th to the 20th centuries.
Throughout the week, Dore Abbey will also host an exhibition of paintings, lino-cuts, ceramics, textiles, stained glass, enamelling, baskets and photography.
