THE Music Pool, Hereford’s community music charity, is hosting a special public event aimed at anyone wanting to discover the pleasure of singing – a day of singing exercises, games, harmony singing and songs from around the world will be led by nationally acclaimed Sue Hollingworth of the Voices Foundation.

“Nearly everyone sings, even if it’s just in the bath.” said Dennis Schiavon of The Music Pool. “This will be a great fun day for people who’d like to sing more, but may not have the confidence to join a choir. It’ll also be good for people who are in choirs already, and for anyone who wants to find their voice and experience the joy of singing with other people. There’s no need to read music – all the songs can be picked up by ear.” There will also be a chance for participants to get involved with The Gathering Wave, the large-scale community singing project that The Music Pool is organising in partnership with the 2009 Hereford Three Choirs Festival. The ‘Find Your Voice’ day is at the Royal National College for the Blind (Main Hall) in Hereford on Sunday, May 18, from 10am to 3.30pm, and is for adults and children aged 9 upwards. Places are £5 for adults, and free of charge for under-18s. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult. To reserve places, contact The Music Pool on 01432 278118.
