Herefordshire and West Sussex based band Psychedelic Hearts Club will be making a rare county appearance at Linton Village Hall on Friday, February 23.

Vocalist and guitar player Simon Tittley met keyboard player, backing vocalist and flautist Susie Wellings on his first internet date! Susie took up music again after a long break from a very musical childhood, studying piano and flute. Her father, producer and entrepreneur Bill Wellings founded the 60s Hot Hits label, and Susie remembers attending sessions as a child where top UK session musicians Big Jim Sullivan, Jimmy Page and Elton John played on cover versions of international hits.

Simon started playing guitar at the age of 11 and later worked as a songwriter and producer for WEA International in Bangkok, in the 80s. He was signed to an indie label in the USA during the 90s and since then he has been one of the busiest private guitar and bass teachers in the county, based at his recordig studio on St Owen Cross near Ross-on-Wye.

The couple met online early in 2011 through the Guardian Soulmates dating website and soon realised they shared a deep love and passin fo music. Simon started the band in Brighton in 2015 and after several personnel changes, persuaded Susie to dig out her flute from the loft and buy a new keyboard.

Since then, the duo have played venues and festivals in UK, France and Spain, drawing inspiration from The Beatles' Sergeant Peppers' Lonely Hearts Club Band album, psychedelic bands such as Cream, the blues of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon, early soul and R&B hits and the reggae of Bob Marley and the Wailers.

Pyschedelic Hearts Club will play at Linton Village Hall on Friday, February 23 at 7pm. Tickets available on the door.
