Five of The Orchestra of The Swan’s woodwind principals will perform at The Courtyard as the wind quintet takes to the stage to present a programme which will take the audience through Europe in a musical time-machine. The group will perform pieces from Hungarian and German baroque via French impressionism and then across the seas to England and onward to America.

The programme will feature Farkas’ Early Hungarian Dances, Debussy’s Petite Suite, Bach’s Prelude and Fugue, Arnold’s Three Shanties for Wind Quintet, Barber’s Summer Music for Wind Quintet, Agay’s Five Easy Dances and Jim Parker’s Mississippi Five.

The Orchestra of The Swan has its home in Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon and last year celebrated its 21st anniversary. As well as being an Associate Orchestra at Town Hall Birmingham the orchestra gives over 45 concerts annually and is currently increasing its overseas touring.

The Orchestra of The Swan wind quintet will perform at The Courtyard on Saturday, February 3 at 7.30pm. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk.
