There's a special weekend of music in store on Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21, as three popular acts return to the area.

On Saturday, the newly refurbished Knighton Community Centre welcomes the return of two of the most popular acts to have appeared in Mid Wales - Anna and Elizabeth and Eli West, who returns to play with the duo and also to give a solo performance.

Eli is best known for his outstanding duo collaboration with Cahalen Morrison, but his recent debut solo album, The Both, sees him taking the lead, on electric and acoustic guitars, banjo, and pedal steel, whilst remaining a thoughtful collaborator with some of his close friends and personal heroes, like jazz great Bill Frisell, new Americana discovery Dori Freeman, and Anna and Elizabeth.

On Sunday, May 21 at 7.30pm, the Foghorn String Band from the Pacific North West, who usually appear at festivals and larger venues, are playing a concert/dance in the workshop at Castle Ring, Beggars Bush (near Presteigne).

The Foghorn Stringband is the present day gold standard for real-deal hard-hitting genuine old-time American string band music, with eight albums, thousands of shows, over 15 years of touring under their belts, and an entirely new generation of roots musicians following their lead.

Tickets for both events are available from The Workhouse and Courtyard Antiques in Presteigne, or call 01544 350407, 01547 528315 or 01547 460231.
