KINGTON and District Operatic Society (KADOS) presents another of Gilbert and Sullivan's masterpieces, The Mikado.
Set in Japan, the narrative gradually resolves a desperate situation between two lovelorn young people, Yum-Yum and Nanki-Poo, into the happiest of endings. Happy except for KoKo, the Lord High Executioner, with his 'list' of victims, who, to bring the story to its acceptable conclusion, has to marry Katia, a formidable woman suffering from a bad dose of unrequited love. However, all's well that ends well, and it does. With lovely singing, gorgeous harmonies and plenty of humour to boot, audiences are promised a great evening's entertainment.
The show takes place at Lady Hawkins Community Leisure Centre on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 27, 28 and 29 at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from Tom Bounds Electrical, 32 High Street, Kington. Tel 01544 231303 (day) or 01544 231501 (eve).
