AWESOME and phenomenal were just two of the words used to describe The Anomalies when they played at Saturday's Wyeside Music Festival.

They were just one of the 22 local bands that played to a record crowd, among them Sketchbeat, who headlined on the Wyeside stage.

Great weather and an astonishing range of things to do ensured that the festival, the third, was a huge success.

Particularly popular with visitors were the drum workshops, the circus, and music from noon until midnight. With everything from house to rock, indie to metal, hip-hop to folk and funk played on the two stages, there was something for everyone on the programme.
