ON Friday night, Hereford Blues club presents a new upcoming young blues band all the way from the Kentish coast.

Salvation Jayne are a young dynamic, alternative blues band taking the scene by storm. Their sound is often described as ‘dirty, raw, energetic, powerful, the list goes on but it’s their playing which gets them outstanding reviews and bookings.

Salvation Jayne comprising of Amy Benham (vocals), Holly Kinnear(guitar), Lucy Foster(drums) and Dan Lucas (bass) are proving that gender stereotyping has no place in music and are breaking down boundaries and preconceptions showing that women in blues are and have always have been powerful beings.

This fresh young band does not claim to be making the blues ‘their own’ but rather enhancing the already down and dirty sounds it has to offer. There are not many bands playing in such an alternative style winning over the more traditional blues fan whilst bringing a younger audience along for the ride.

2016 so far has been a busy and productive year, with festivals and clubs filling their diary. They recorded their first video and released their EP ‘Dahlia’ in March: consisting of three tasty originals plus a stunning rendition of Tom Waits ‘Chocolate Jesus’.

Salvation Jayne will be supported by young local band As Mamas and up and coming blues/rock power trio Kris Barras Band at Hereford Blues Club on Friday night at The Booth Hall in Hereford. Doors open 8pm.Tickets available on the door
