HEREFORD'S Richmond Club hosts A Celebration of Mott the Hoople on Saturday, June 11 from noon to midnight.

The programme starts with Hastings Rock Radio DJ Andy Gunton in conversation with former members of the group, including Verden Allen and Mick Bolton and their road crew about the early days of the band and life on the road in the early 70s.

Also featuring during the day will be Morgan Fisher's film, Mott in America and the Start Productions film, The Ballad of Mott the Hoople with special guests, the film's directors Mike Kerry and Chris Hall, who'll be talking about the making of the film.

After a short break at 6pm, the evening's line-up of live music kicks off with Terminal Rage. Also playing are Mick Bolton, Luther Grosvenor Band, Troy Redfern Band, Wott the Hoople playing solid Mott The Hoople joined by Stan Tippins for three numbers to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Buddies, the band that ultimately gave birth to Mott.

All profits from the day are being donated to the Alzheimer's Society in memory of Dale Griffin (Buffin) the band's original drummer who died recently, and the day will open with a presentation in the Green Room.
