ARTS Alive presents The Churchfitters - a folk group like no other. A double bass made out of scrap metal. Heart-wrenching vocals accompanied by a musical saw. Foot-stomping fiddle mixed with infectious funk-rock rhythms.

The group was founded in 1978 and has been based in Brittany since 1993, and the current line-up is long-time member Rosie Short, her brother Chris, Boris Lebret and vocalist and percussionist, Nelson. The unique sound of The Churchfitters continues; they’ve recently released a new album Get Wise, so now’s a great chance to catch up with their latest music.

The Churchfitters receive great accolades from top folk musicians: "Great band...very cool Celtic rock outfit. Very different." (Phil Beer, Show of Hands)

"I knew as soon as I saw Boris's instruments that the Churchfitters were going to be interesting….the most musically inventive quartet that I have seen in decades. They received a standing ovation from the festival. Go and see them and you will understand why. A must.” (Dave Pegg, Fairport Convention and Cropredy Festival)
