ON Saturday, November 14, Music in New Radnor presents John Kirkpatrick, the ever popular maestro of the squeezebox, in his latest show Tunes from the Trenches - a packed kitbag of songs from the two World Wars. There will be songs from the home front and the front line, rousing and poignant in turn,Home front sing-along classics include Pack Up Your Troubles, Sister Susie’s Sewing Shirts for Soldiers to the poignant Keep the Home Fires Burning and more songs of ordinary folk living and working under the adversity of the times.
And there will be songs from the front lines too; songs of the service personnel, ordinary folk far from home, doing their best to be good soldiers in a bad situation. John will also reveal how the experiences on the Front were dealt with, all described with humour, wit and some occasional fruity language.
