LEDBURY'S Community Brass Band is pleased to announce the appointment of Colin Herbert as its new musical director, taking over the baton from John Frith who is stepping back to concentrate on his composing and vocal music commitments.

Colin began playing the cornet at the age of seven tutored by his grandfather, and subsequently joined Sherborne Town Band. He went on to join the Army and studied at the Royal Military School of Music at Kneller Hall under Professor Peter Wise. Colin was awarded the prestigious Cousins Memorial Parchment for exceptional proficiency on the Euphonium, and also won the title of best cavalry trumpet player on the course.

Colin is excited to be joining Ledbury Community Brass Band, and looks forward to working with the band to raise its profile and to increase its appeal to the younger generation.
