THE doors of The Herdsman open on Saturday, October 31 for a Halloween Charity Rock Night in aid of St Michael's Hospice.
A great line-up of Herefordshire bands Crowsaw, Raptor and Quarter Stone are joined by Gloucestershire's finest, Erica for an unmissable night.
Crowsaw drummer Mark Pullin's wife Clare, who has organised the event, explains why they are raising funds for the hospice:
"I have witnessed and appreciated personally, the kindness afforded by the tireless efforts of all involved in the running of St. Michaels Hospice, where the recently opened new building is inspirational. It's a fantastic blueprint for care in the future. It serves not only as a centre that supports those in need, but a place that inspires a new paradigm in healthcare.
"This event will not only show our appreciation and support for St. Michaels, it will also promote the importance of preserving live music venues. The Herdsman, once known as The Old Harp, was for many years a well loved live music venue. With a twist of nostalgia,
it's the perfect place to host this event.
"A big, big thank you goes out to Doreen and Mark Higgins of The Herdsman, Mike Vale of Element Audio, Paddy Nugent of St. Michaels Hospice and of course all the bands for offering their time, effort and expertise," Clare adds.
Halloween Charity Night is at The Herdsman on Saturday, October 31 from 7.30pm.
