THE Tom Seals Band plays a free gig at The Barrels on Wednesday, October 21.

Tom, who has been called 'amazing' by Jamie Cullum and declared 'a rising star of jazz/pop' by Music Mag, is 21 years old and a fresh musical powerhouse of the piano. One of the UK’s most in-demand side men, Tom has worked with or supported established artists such as Gregory Porter, Cerys Matthews, DJ Trevor Nelson, Daniel Bedingfield, Tony Christie, Lance Ellington, Kenny Thomas, Sad Cafe, Showaddywaddy, Joe Stilgoe and Dame Cleo Laine.

A career highlight for him, is performing a '1 piano - 4 hands' version of Route 66 with Jamie Cullum, and h had to put his degree studies at Paul McCartney’s LIPA on hold to fulfill his live and studio commitments. Last summer saw the release of his debut album, Ace, which soared to Number Two in the UK Blues Charts and continued to spend four months in the Top 10 of the UK Blues Charts.

Two days later, on Friday, October 23, The Venue hosts a charity noise night as part of the Oxjam Festival, with metal instrumentalists Brocken Spectre, classic D-beat revivalists Maniac SS, awesome instrumental rock duo The Broken Oak Duet from Worcester, fuzz rock legends Skinhorse and a performance from alternative heavy rockers A Hundred Suns.
