KINGTON Community Choir held its first choir practice in January 2014 and its members have grown in skill and confidence over the intervening months. Although from the start the main aim of the choir was to sing for pleasure, it was also set up as a not-for-profit organisation and a community spirited enterprise. Whenever possible the choir has made itself available to sing at local festivals, community based concerts and fund raising events.

Organisers Valerie Whittaker and Tina Davison, said “from the beginning we have worked hard to ensure that those who join Kington Community Choir find belonging to it a fulfilling and worthwhile experience. In the relaxed atmosphere of our weekly choir practices we sing arrangements of pop and songs from the musicals under the leadership of Jon Watson, our experienced and entertaining choir leader."

If you love singing and would like to be part of this lively and fun choir why not come along to a choir practice. Meetings are on Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9pm during term time at Kington Primary School. There are no auditions and new members, particularly men, are always welcome.
