LEOMINSTER Choral Society invites singers to its weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays from September 15, in the Baptist Hall, Etnam Street (entrance on the left of the church). There is a half-time break for drinks and socialising, and each rehearsal finishes at 9.30pm.
Musical director James Atherton has chosen an English programme for the Autumn concert, on Saturday, November 7, accompanied by the newly-refurbished organ in the priory church.
The programme will include the well-loved Blest Pair of Sirens by Parry, and Stanford’s Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in B flat. Other popular items are Parry’s I was glad and two of his Songs of Farewell. The society invites young and old, novice and expert, to head along to the taster sessions on September 15 and 22, with a view to joining more permanently. Sessions are at 7.15pm for 7.30pm start.
