AUDITIONS for Elevate Youth Dance Company will be held on Monday, September 14 at Hereford College of Arts' College Road campus.
Dancefest’s Herefordshire performance groups for technically strong, creative dancers are auditioning for new members for the next academic year.
The Elevate companies are for dancers who are excited by contemporary dance, have good technical ability and can commit time and enthusiasm during the academic year. They are for open-minded dancers who not only want to perform in theatres, but also in outdoor and unusual spaces including anything from empty shops to parks. Over the last year the groups have performed at Accelerate, Gold Star Dance Day and Circuit Youth Dance Tour.
The two companies meet on Monday evenings to create and rehearse a range of choreographic works. The emphasis of the companies' work is on developing performance skills and improving the creative and technical skills of their committed members.
The audition for Elevate Junior Youth Dance Company, for dancers aged 10 -13, will be from 4-5pm, and the audition for Elevate Youth Dance Company, for dancers aged 14+ will be from 5-6.30pm.
The auditions take the form of a typical class so there's no need to prepare anything. It is free to audition but there is a fee to join the company
Application forms can be downloaded from dancefest.co.uk and need to be completed and returned by Friday, September 11.
