THE Orchestre d’Harmonie de Saverne, Leominster's twin town, will give a concert in Leominster Priory on Saturday, July 4.

Saverne has a 500 seat theatre in the Chateau des Rohans in the middle of the town and the Saverne Orchestra regularly give concerts there. Established in 1892 the 60-strong orchestra is made up of outstanding musicians from the region and each year they go on a tour in Europe. For the first time in their history the Orchestre d’Harmonie de Saverne will be visiting England, and following a concert in Bath the orchestra will visit Leominster.

The programme of modern European music will include The Armed Man by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins, subtitled 'A Mass for Peace' and dedicated to victims of the Kosovo crisis; highlights from Chess, with music by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, formerly of ABBA and a Klezmer classics arranged by Johan de Meij.
