EIRA/SNOW continue their tour of the churches in the Welsh Marches, celebrating the majestic acoustics of these buildings and engaging with the rich spiritual heritage. The multi-instrumental enigmatic duo will be playing at St Mary the Virgin, Marden on Saturday, May 9. The music is atmospheric drawing on Scandinavian, Celtic and Middle Eastern influences. The acoustic space found within so many churches complements and enhances this clear new voice in contemporary music. Performances have left audiences both rapturous and uplifted.
Eira/Snow play a wide range of instruments including double bass, soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, Armenian douduk, Turkish mey and zurnah, Hungarian tarogato, clarinet, electronic tanpura and a range of percussion.
The performance will begin at 7pm. Tickets, £7.50 including refreshments. Proceeds to the Marden Church Bell Tower Restoration Appeal. For further details, call 01432 880213.
