AFTER four years of success in the States, British born singer songwriter Callaghan finally returns to the UK to release her new album, A History Of Now, and she launches her UK tour at the Phoenix Theatre in Ross-on-Wye on Saturday.

Written over the last 2 years, A History of Now is the follow up to her critically acclaimed debut, Life In Full Colour which has since helped Callaghan sell over 10, 000 albums in the US, and sees Callaghan return with the unique blend of folk, country, rock and pop that’s already won her an army of fans.

“I want people to connect my lyrics to their own lives and I hope these songs stir different emotions, make you think, but also make you want to sing, smile and tap your feet,” says Callaghan, from her Nashville home.

“The album was recorded in Nashville, with some of Music City’s best players," she adds. "Producer Dennis Matkosky and engineer/mixer David Leonard are both experts in their fields, with amazing track records. Collaborating with people of that calibre really challenges and inspires you to raise your game and make the very best record you can.”

If debut album, ‘Life in Full Colour’ was about chasing dreams, then ‘A History of Now’ is about achieving them.

“Life is a journey of moments and experiences and we are all, right now, writing a story which will one day fascinate someone," says Callaghan. "The way we live, the decisions we make, and the moments of hope, grief and happiness which punctuate all our lives, will one day make someone stop, think and wonder. All of us are writing our own 'history of now”.

Catch Callaghan at the Phoenix Theatre on Saturday at 7.30pm. Tickets available from Rossiter Books on 01989 564464
