THE next Velvet Violin musical cabaret night takes place at the Assembly Rooms in Presteigne on Sunday, March 29, featuring Miss Maud's Folly, Nuala Honan and Beth Porter, Ian Marchant and the house band, John Hymas and Dave Luke.

Miss Maud’s Folly perform a blend of gypsy, jazz and folk noir tunes, full of beautiful imagery and delightful instrumental arrangements. From raucous, breakneck-paced gypsy tunes to delicate Spanish lullabies, velvety jazz numbers to lolloping honky-tonk saloon music – the band delights and excites audiences every time they perform.

Beth is based in Bath and has over 60 album credits on a wide spectrum of genres, from Eliza Carthy to Kula Shaker

The Velvet Violin house band will be John Hymas and Dave Luke and Ian Marchant will be taking on the role of resident game master.
