AFTER a flood forced Ludlow Assembly Rooms to cancel Lisa Knapp’s gig in October last year, the venue is delighted to announce that the event has now been rescheduled for Friday, March 6.

Since emerging on the folk scene in 2007, Lisa, winner of best original song at the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, has established and evolved her own distinctive voice, absorbing a whole range of influences to craft a sound that is at once beautiful, adventurous and dramatic. Inspired by the songs and stories of Annie Briggs, Martin Carthy and Pentangle, Lisa’s unique style blends radiant traditional folk with contemporary flavours, cementing her reputation as one of the most creative and distinctive artists around. She was also nominated for folk singer of the year, and best album for Hidden Seam.

For this event Lisa will be accompanied by her full backing band, including Pete Flood (Bellowhead) on percussion.

“We’re really pleased that we were able to reschedule this gig," says Ludlow Assembly Rooms' marketing officer Tony Johnston. "Lisa is a rising star on the folk circuit and it’s wonderful to bring modern, inventive folk music to the stage in Ludlow."
