THE Music Pool is proud to announce the winners of this year’s OMG Herefordshire competition. Despite a few hitches along the way (including the total withdrawal of support from the company organising the competition on a regional level!), Ashley Sey aka MC Bearwolf and Amelia Hunter were successful in winning a slot at Nozstock Festival and a day in KJM Studios respectively.

The audience at The Courtyard were also treated to top quality performances from Jasmine Jennings, three-piece band Hop, Billie Coultas and Raye Harvey (last year’s winner), all of whom had polished their sets with support from Livewire.

Many thanks go to our judges – Cliff Woollard, head of the Herefordshire Music Service; Anthony Murphy, member of The Anomalies, former manager of The Jailhouse nightclub and youth workshop leader; Nicky Jaques, singer-songwriter and youth workshop leader; Beth Melling, choir leader and singing teacher; and Danni Hunt, BBC Introducing presenter for BBC Hereford and Worcester. Also many thanks to our partners, Nozstock Festival and KJM Studios, who were able to very generously provide alternative prizes when regional support was withdrawn.

Despite the fact that funding for the Livewire project will not be continued after March this year, The Music Pool is happy to announce that they have secured grants from the Herefordshire Foundation that will pay for a Livewire Central week during the Easter school holidays. Details and further information will be posted on the Music Pool website and the Livewire Facebook page.
