ON Friday, February 20, one of the county's most popular bands visits the Cider Barn for its monthly charity music night.
Whiskey River are a hip swinging, finger-lickin’, toe tapping outfit that have been wowing them up and down the land, (and other lands) for years, serving up the very best of zydeco, cajun, bluegrass, roots, blues, country and Americana.
They appear in various line-ups from a duo to a six-piece - at the Cider Barn it'll be the acoustic trio of Martin Blake on vocals guitar and banjo, Dennis Schiavon, double bass and vocals and Aidan Sheehan, vocals, accordion, harmonica, mandolin, whistles, guitar, jaws harp — in fact, anything that’s not tied down.
A la carte menu is served from 6pm and snacking platters will be available from 8pm. Call 01544 388161 to book. A donation of £2.50 per person is requested for this month's charity, MIND.
