THE Music in New Radnor concert series continues on Saturday, February 14, with an ensemble who met as students at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. They have a fresh, vibrant approach to playing and describe themselves as ‘mot your typical chamber ensemble’.

Anna Perry, clarinet; David Grubb, violin and Joshua Abbot, who is replacing Jess Ryan-Phillips on piano for this concert, bring different influences to their collective playing and have a fresh modern approach to classical music. This concert promises an exciting programme of music from composers as diverse as Christopher Ball, Ilya Mishchenkov, Darius Milhaud and Camille Saint-Saens as well as influences from Tango and Scotland.

"We look forward to hosting the Borders Trio on their first visit to us," says Mary Tolhurst for MiNR. "The Community Hall in New Radnor has a marvellous, resonant acoustic and is a perfect setting for this combination of instruments."

The Borders Trio will play in New Radnor on Saturday, February 14. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets available in advance from 01544 350268.
