HEREFORDSHIRE-based 2Faced Dance Company are celebrating their 15th birthday this year, and marking the occasion, the company has unveiled a new look and a new website.

Artistic director and award-winning choreographer Tamsin Fitzgerald founded the company in 1999 in a bid to inspire people through education and performance. In the past 15 years the company has grown extensively, having performed in more than 1000 venues across the world and successfully run a programme of community dance classes in the county and beyond.

Last year 2Faced formed a consortium with the Bromsgrove-based arts venue Artrix and Dancefest, the dance agency for Herefordshire and Worcestershire, which was awarded a grant of £120,000 over two years, from Arts Council England's Catalyst Programme. Part of this funding has been used for the rebranding and new online home.

The new look coincides with the company preparing for its next professional touring production, Dreaming in Code, an explosive, brand-new double bill comprising two pieces; milk night, choreographed by Eddie Kay for Frantic Assembly and Lucid Grounds, created by the company’s own award-winning artistic director Tamsin Fitzgerald. Dreaming In Code premieres at The Courtyard before going on a UK-wide tour.

Boasting an original soundtrack from composers Angus MacRae and Tony-nominated Alex Baranowski, and a cast of five male dancers, 2Faced Dance explore what the future could look like in this powerful and fearless new work.

milk night is a poignant and thought-provoking piece of physical theatre that sees the cast thrown into a world of the unknown, while Lucid Grounds uses powerful design, music, light and reflection to lead the audience on a journey through an all-encompassing world.

Lisa Sullivan, Company & Marketing Manager of 2Faced Dance, said: "It’s important for 2Faced Dance, as we reach our 15th birthday, to ensure that the work we are producing is ever evolving. Working alongside Eddie Kay for Frantic Assembly has offered the company a new approach and fresh techniques in creating work. Alongside our artistic director, Tamsin Fitzgerald, Eddie brings audiences a varied, versatile and visceral double-bill offering both theatre and dance audiences something to get their teeth into.”

Dreaming in Code will be at The Courtyard on Thursday, January 15 at 1.30pm (schools performance) and 7.30pm. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk
