THE Dean of Hereford Cathedral will be in St Peter’s Church Lugwardine on Saturday, November 1 at 7pm to talk about ‘Some of the More Notorious Saints of the Marches.’

The Dean’s contribution concludes an autumn season of events which has featured music, history, poetry and a special service.

The exciting autumn programme has featured a jazz concert, featuring Ben Turner, a local musician with a growing national reputation and a Traherne Weekend marking the connection of the poet Thomas Traherne with the parish. This weekend included a concert with the award winning cellist, Isaac Collier.

Following the success of these two events, the two young musicians involved, both developing successful professional careers, have volunteered to start workshops for young local musicians.

Ben Turner is offering a jazz and improvisation workshop, and Isaac Collier in interested inn providing master classes in cello. Anyone interested should contact Jenny Barnes on 01432 859542.
