FURNACE Mountain Band, a popular four-piece band from Virginia USA will be returning to the UK after their recent success at Celtic Connections Festival and will be playing in Knighton Community Centre on Sunday, October 26 at 8pm.
Their music is essentially Old Time Appalachian folk and bluegrass music played with new style sensibilities, and they count the Coen Brothers and Bob Harris amongst their many fans. The music is at times raucous, with spirited fiddle tunes weaving around the powerful rhythms of bass, mandolin and bouzouki. At others times it is poignant and poetic with sublime vocal harmonies interpreting some of the oldest songs around, alongside their own compositions.
