THE Remi Harris Trio, a contemporary gypsy jazz trio playing an exciting selection of jazz, swing and bebop standards, original tunes and popular melodies, will be playing at the Assembly Rooms in Presteigne on Saturday.
Still in his 20's, Remi is fast becoming known as one of the country's top gypsy jazz guitar players. Bromyard-based Remi is an exceptionally talented self-taught guitarist. Growing up in a creative environment he became fascinated with a wide variety of musical styles and his love of improvising eventually led him to jazz. Six years ago, at the age of 20, he decided he would learn to play gypsy jazz guitar, and set about learning from videos on youtube, CDs and jam sessions. He’s come a long way in the last couple of years, giving up his job in a local music shop to become a full time professional musician and has received international recognition for his exceptional playing. "He is a tremendously gifted young player with an awesome command of Gypsy Jazz guitar." John Etheridge
Remi Haris is at the Assembly Rooms in Presteigne on Saturday at 8pm. Tickets available from The Workhouse Gallery & Cafe and No.46 Wine Bar.
