THE road between Grosmont and Skenfrith, the B4347, has been closed since the torrential rain earlier in the year caused extensive damage. But the road closure does not affect the route from Hereford to Part-y-Seal, where folk roots duo Carmina will be playing a midsummer picnic concert on Saturday, June 21.

Carmina’s founders Pippa Marland and Rob King combine celtic folk and jazz to create a unique musical setting for their original songs and arrangements of traditional material. Led by Pippa (vocals, saxes, Irish whistles) and Rob (acoustic guitar, bodhrán), the band has featured in its long career many of the top names from the UK/Irish folk and jazz scene

Carmina began their career in Bristol in the 1990s; since then they have toured all over the world and recorded five albums, two of which were produced by the legendary and highly-respected Irish musician Donal Lunny.

To book for Carmina at Part-y-Seal on Saturday, June 21 at 7.30pm, please call 01981 240814.
