ALL Saints Church and Café in Hereford has secured a musical coup, thanks to the efforts of a trio of sisters desperate to see the band.

When Rebecca Semple, Bryony Connolly and Lydia Hughes were looking to see where they could catch Canadian band The Bills on their UK tour, they decided that they would take a chance and invest in their home city by booking The Bills themselves.

A much sought after Canadian roots/world/folk music band, The Bills will be in the UK for a short tour this month taking in well established folk festivals and internationally acclaimed arts venues as well as Hereford's All Saints.

Last time the band toured the UK, one of the best music critics in the business, the hugely influential Rob Adams, writing in The Glasgow Herald, praised them as “the biggest blast of fresh air to come out of Canada since The Band.”

Influenced in equal parts by Django Reinhardt, Sam Bush, Stan Rogers and Chopin, and renowned for their instrumental virtuosity, tight vocal arrangements, exuberant live shows, evocative song-writing and innovative interpretations of traditional tunes, they have racked up a string of Canadian music awards and built a devoted fanbase that extends across North America and Europe.

Tickets for The Bills at All Saints Church & Café on Tuesday, May 27 can be booked by calling The Courtyard box office on 01432 340555 or online at courtyard.org.uk
