ROSS-on-Wye Choral Society returns to The Larruperz Centre with A Night at The Opera on Saturday, with a programme of favourite choruses and well-known arias from a selection of operas.
They will be joined by soprano Jennifer Walker and tenor Matthew Ioan Sims, whose programmes contain such show-stoppers as Nessun Dorma from Puccini's Turandot and O mio caro babbino from Gianni Schichi. Among the choruses will be the Priests’ Chorus from Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Brindisi from La Traviata and the Chorus of Hebrew Slaves from Nabucco, both by Verdi. The chorus will be joined by the soloists in Habanera from Carmen, and the Chorus of Wedding Guests from Lucia di Lammermuir by Donizetti. The Anvil Chorus (complete with anvil) from Verdi’s Il Trovatore will be a stirring finale to a memorable evening.
Tickets for the concert, which starts at 7.30pm, are available from The Larruperz Centre and Rossiter Books in Ross-on-Wye. For further information, contact the ticket secretary on 01989 563328.
