MANU Hasan, second prize winner in the European Piano Teacher’s Association competition at the Steinway Hall in London and winner of the Hereford Police Choir’s Young Musicians Award for 2013 will perform the Grieg Piano Concerto with Hereford Sixth Form College’s Scholars’ orchestra, conducted by John Frith, in a concert of orchestral and choral music at 7.30pm tomorrow in Hereford Cathedral.
Manu is currently in the first year at Hereford Sixth Form College where he is an instrumental scholar and is studying AS Mathematics, Music, Philosophy and Spanish.
The highly acclaimed Academia Musica Choir of the College, conducted by college director of music, Aryan Arji, will sing works by Elgar and Finzi and the concert opens with Mozart’s overture to Don Giovanni. Tickets are available from the College or at the door.
The choir can also be heard in a concert of Passiontide Music at 6.30 pm at St Paul’s, Tupsley on Wednesday, April 9, and in Malvern Priory on Saturday, April 12.
