LOCAL star George Barnett, whose cover of Daft Punk’s hit single Get Lucky has been viewed almost eight million times on YouTube and who enjoys support from such legends as Pharrell and Nile Rodgers, will make his Jailhouse debut on Saturday.

His latest single, Animal Keeper, was premiered on American Idol host Ryan Seacrest’s US website, to a sea of critical acclaim.

“We’re really pleased that George is making a return to Hereford,”

said Anthony Murphy of The Jailhouse, and secretary of Hereford Live. “He’s going to be huge, and it’s a great opportunity to catch him in what could quite possibly be one of his last gigs in an intimate venue. Many bands have played here before hitting the big time, and now local people have the chance to see George before he becomes the next big thing.”

George came to attention in 2008 as UK Young Drummer of the Year, but he is an all-rounder who sings, drums and plays piano, guitar, bass, trumpet and harmonica on material he writes, produces and records himself.

Hereford Live presents George Barnett, plus local artists Richa and Cassius Wortmann at The Jailhouse on Saturday from 8pm.
