SPRING has arrived at Parkfields Gallery, Ross-on-Wye, with fresh new work on display.

Hannah Willow, who is exhibiting her paintings and silver jewellery for the first time at Parkfields, is inspired by the Wiltshire countryside with its ancient places, her work influenced by stories, folklore and myths and legends.

Also exhibiting is stained glass artist Tamsin Abbott, who finds that the ever-changing light of the Herefordshire countryside provides inspiration for her work.

Hand-thrown and decorated ceramics by Selborne Pottery also feature. With rich copper red and cobalt blue glazes the pots are both functional and decorative yet contemporary.

Perfect for the time of year is the daffodil range of ceramics by Gwili Pottery also in the exhibition – the countryside on a plate.

The spring exhibition runs until Monday, April 26. The gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.

■ Spring is also in the air at the Old Chapel Gallery in Pembridge, where the current exhibition features work by established potter Lawrence McGowan and, returning by popular demand are ceramic sculptor Elaine Peto’s stoneware animals.

Shropshire artist Anna Ravenscroft has a brand new collection of etchings, and newcomer Sarah Lean paints mostly landscapes on handmade canvas in acrylics and oils. Completing the line-up is blacksmith Kate Risdale with some metal sculptures.
