THE Hay Makers’ Gallery completes its 21st anniversary year of exhibitions by welcoming back three successful past artists – jewellers Jan Fryer with her bright metallic contemporary look and Alison Englefield, whose original brooches are made from layered silk paper, textiles and sequins, decorated with silk threads and fragments of antique fabrics and embroidery.
Also returning is textile maker and designer Alison Dupernex, whose work has featured in the designer room in Liberty of London.
Also on display are Helen Brown’s domestic pottery, cheerfully illustrated with animals and the gallery is also showing prints by an artist new to the local scene Gail Stokes-Haywood, and very striking wire sculptures of hares and hens and glassware by Helen Kahan from Cardiff.
There is also new work from the Hay Makers themselves as well as the now-famous silver jewellery and fine leather boxes from Timbuktu.
The exhibition runs until the first week of January.
