THIS summer sees the release of two albums by local musician and music teacher Tom Hughes.
Performing as half of folk duo Hughes and Hack, Tom has supported many musicians on the folk circuit through Nightjar Folk Club, run by the Music Pool, and performed at Birmingham Symphony Hall.
When he’s not performing, Tom is a freelance music practitioner who spent last year as music co-ordinator at Garway Primary School, as well as being involved with supporting music at Mordiford Primary School, leading their junior orchestra and wind group since 2006.
The first of his two CDs is Bliss, a collection of music composed and performed on the piano, inspired by the picturesque countryside of Mordiford and Checkley.
The second, Geared Up, is a mix of traditional English folk music and new tunes, featuring other local musicians. For details, visit myspace.com/tomhughesfolk
