A GROUP of recent graduates from Hereford College of Arts have been selected to take part in the prestigious summer exhibition of The Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen in Painswick, near Stroud.

Guild committee members selectors, Miranda Leonard of New Brewery Arts Centre, Cirencester, and Leominster printmaker Christopher Noble, were impressed by the overall quality of this year’s graduates.

“We thought we’d choose four or five but ended up inviting nine from Hereford, and they all said yes.”

The Hereford College of Arts students are Leona Drew, who makes leather books with brass patterns and vessels; Liz Hopkin, contemporary metalworker; Fiona Mitcham, jewellery designer; Chloe Shepheard, maker of colourful turned wooden bowls; Clare Sheridan-Wallis, jewellery maker; plus Georgia Trott, Sue Whelan and Lianne Winter, who all work with ceramics and Hollie Wright.

The exhibition in the arts and crafts Painswick centre runs until Monday, August 25, daily from 10am to 6pm. For details, email info@guildcrafts.org.uk
