Launch pad for upcoming talent

MUSICIANS seeking a platform to show off their talents are being asked to contact promoters setting up live band nights in Hereford.
From tonight (Thursday) and then on the last Thursday of every month, Live at the Imperial will showcase the wealth of local talent upstairs at The Imperial in Widemarsh Street.
Three up-and-coming Herefordshire bands – How to Dress for Cricket, Smoke Stack and Tilt Station – will be performing at the opening night .
Nick Herbert and Rich Palm, of The Umbrella Factory, say they want to create a live night that embraces the wealth of musical talent in the area.
Nick said: “We won’t be bringing in bands from outside the three counties or nearby Wales because we want to try to make this a launchpad for all the local bands that love playing in live venues with a decent sound system, engineer, visuals, atmosphere, pub-priced drinks and lively audience.”
The nights, which will feature a quality headline band with a younger band in support, are being run by The Umbrella Factory with ex-Mars Bonfire lead singer and DJ Rich Palmer.
“We plan to use The Umbrella Factory’s 20 years of experience in the live music industry to create an energetic atmosphere with the feeling of being in a top music venue along the lines of London’s 101 club or Marquee or Manchester’s Band on the Wall,” says Rich.
