1:32pm Thursday 17th July 2008
THE latest exhibition at Galanthus Gallery is entitled One Moment and features the work of landscape painters Peter Hicks and Colin Taylor and the unique sculptural clocks of Terry Hooley.
Peter’s work is caught between figuration and abstraction and much of his time is spent working locally in Mansell Lacy.
Colin is a mountaineer as well as a painter, for whom climbing and painting are inextricably linked.
Punctuating this show will be the sound of time passing delightfully by, in the shape of Terry Hooley’s unique, sculptural clocks.
One moment runs until September 2 at Galanthus in Wormbridge. The gallery and café are open 10am to 5pm, six days a week (closed on Wednesday).
Galanthus is also the venue for artist Katrina Stephens’ Chinese brush classes.
The ancient and unique art of the Chinese brush involves mastering the control of animal hair brushes mounted in bamboo, applying hand-ground ink in sweeping strokes.
Every student will receive individual attention.
The next workshop is on Thursday, July 24. Places are limited so booking is essential. Email katrina.stephens@maistra.co.uk or call 07867 808819.
