THE Savoy Theatre in Monmouth presents Fanny and Johnnie Cradock Cook the Great American Songbook on Saturday.

Kate McNab and John Telfer star as the Cradocks in a new play which includes a two course meal a la Cradock, as Fanny demonstrates prawn cocktail, the starter she invented more than half a century ago, and her main course, the brand new Diamond Jubilee Chicken, her revenge on Constance Spry for pipping her to the royal post in 1953 with coronation chicken. As Fanny says: “Revenge is a dish best eaten cold.”

The Cradocks demonstrate, argue, namedrop, insult, parlez dodgy Français and sing as they go. To book, call the box office on 01600 772467 or visit monmouth-savoy.co.uk.
