Shakespeare Schools Festival features four local schools at The Courtyard
12:00am Friday 26th October 2012 in Leisure
AMONG the 50 establishments taking to stages across the West Midlands to perform in this year’s nationwide Shakespeare Schools Festival (SSF) are four local schools.
They will perform, respectively, half-hour productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, As You Like It, Hamlet and Much Ado About Nothing.
Now in its 13th year, SSF believes in the need to invest in the cultural education of the next generation.
The cast workshops are delivered by Central School of Speech and Drama to convince young people that they have a voice and are capable of putting on a memorable performance.
The National Theatre provides directorial training for their 700 dedicated teachers, 200 of whom this year are primary school teachers, showing them how to unlock text for their young people.
Family and friends are invited to book tickets from the box office on 01432 340555.
