Young folk band Calan bring their fresh take on traditional Welsh music to The Courtyard next week.

Featuring five remarkably talented musicians, Calan's contemporary and lively approach breathes new life into old traditions. With sparkling melodies, foot-tapping tunes and an energetic performance of Welsh step dancing, Calan have toured across Wales, throughout the UK, Europe, North America and beyond.

Playing fiddles, guitar, accordion and bagpipes they will perform old favourite reels, jigs and hornpipes with fast paced and uplifting arrangements as well as some beautiful and haunting songs.

Embarking on their biggest tour so far, Calan will be supported by musician Dan Wilde as they perform songs from their new album Solomon.

To celebrate Folk Music at The Courtyard, customers who buy two full price tickets to attend this performance will receive a free pint of Butty Bach before the show to enjoy in the Cafe Bar.

Calan will be at The Courtyard on Thursday, April 20 at 8pm. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk
