FOLLOWING the success of Hereford College of Arts’ inaugural Music Week 2016, the exciting line-up for this year has been released.

HCA's Music Week will run from Monday, March 6 to Friday, March 10 and will feature performances, workshops and lectures by guest music industry specialists from across the musical spectrum.

This year's line-up includes Simon Bates, professor of saxophone at the Royal Marines School of Music, Ollie Harding, drummer for The Shires, and singer-songwriter Ella Shaw, who wowed the audience and judges on Britain’s Got Talent 2015. Ella is bringing the rhythm section that recorded on her album, and will also perform a concert supported by Hereford College of Arts music students on Thursday, March 9.

David Bebbington, course leader for the BA (Hons) Popular Music degree, “Music Week helps students to gain an insight into the workings of the music industry from real practitioners and academics with distinguished music careers. Not only do they have an opportunity to learn from our guests and network, they also get some hands on experience of assisting in the running of the event.”

Mathew Lane, a 2nd year BA (Hons) Popular Music student is enthusiastic about his experience at Music Week 2016 “Music Week was great. Being part of a small workshop with musician Ian Matthews and helping out with sound engineering for renowned singer-songwriter Charlie Dore were real highlights for me.”
